The six-photo system

Photo 1 of 6

Primary view

Stand where you normally see the bin. Bin centred in the frame, phone at chest height.

Photo 2 of 6

Background — bin moved

Wheel the bin out of the way and photograph the exact same spot from the same position.

Photo 3 of 6

Left 45°

Take three steps to your left. Keep the bin inside the outline.

Photo 4 of 6

Right 45°

Take three steps to your right. Keep the bin inside the outline.

Texture close-up

Get within a metre of the wall, fence or hedge behind the bin. Fill the frame.

Wide context

Step back so we can see the bin, the ground and the surroundings together.

Why perspective matters

A wheelie bin is a 3D object. The camouflage lines up perfectly from the angle you photographed — your Primary Viewing Angle — and becomes progressively less exact as you move away from it. We never promise literal invisibility; we promise a bin that no longer looks like it belongs there.
